Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback, especially that the multiple POVs worked for you - always a risk, but I wanted to tell this from the 'monster' pov too. I sort of wanted Benny to stay, but it seemed to make more sense for him to go, as heartbreaking as it was. Very glad you liked all the growling/scenting/etc - makes it fun to write something like this! lol
