Eight Days of Wincest - Season 3 Drabble

samdean_otp's wonderful Eight Days of Wincest challenge. Season 3 was so angsty, ohmygod. Here, have an angsty drabble to celebrate!
Season Three
It can’t end like this. Please Dean, not like this.
Dean looks resigned, the adrenaline burst that let them kill a dozen demons and evade Lilith drained out of him.
Remember what I taught you, he says, and there are tears in his eyes as the minute hand inches closer to the 12, but he’s smiling at Sam anyway. The brave big brother one last time, offering consolation while he can. Sam already knows, as the door is blown open, that there will be none. Dean’s heart has always been Sam’s; the hellhounds tear it apart, and Sam’s stops beating.
And another fic from the past, this one an obscure little apocafic I wrote to deal with the horror of Dean's deal at the time. One of the few true apocalypse fics I've written, with a very dark Sam and a very desperate Dean. The End of the World (In Your Eyes)
