Oh, this was lovely. I enjoyed the outsider POV on the boys' long, dangerous lives, and Essa really getting them. She's a wonderful character. I love how she fell in love with them, just like we did, but she doesn't know all the things that happened to them, although we do. It's a wonderful way to tell their story. Having them return again and again to the cabin, where they were getting a little time to regroup and rest and come together again, just felt so good. Especially since we know their story is almost over, although Essa doesn't, and of course, neither do they.
And now I'm crying.
