I know I'm not on your f-list, but I have sincerely been amazed by some of your fics. Factor in when I saw the summary for this on the artist claims - I wanted. Then when I saw it was yours - I wanted MORE! And since I saw your other comment about the issue...*gulp*
I don't read Dean/Cas (or Sam/Cas, or either J/Misha). At all. But, umm...I shall endure the squick for the pleasure of the rest of a story I'm certain will be worth it.
I'm gonna dl the PDF, then read it after I post my own BB tomorrow. It will help distract me from my Post-BigBang Posting Freak-Out. LOL

I'm another Sam/Dean girl BUT I ALSO LOVE YOUR CAS IN THIS!!!
OH GOD CAS - I can just imagine the scene XD!!!!!! On a more serious note though, I love his words - Dean and Sam are both so used to twisting their words to hide what they're feeling but Cas? He nailed it EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.
And it really packs a punch, you know - you 'used' him very effectively, for lack of a better word ^^!
And THAT WHOLE THING WITH THE AMULET!!! Oh DEAN!!! Also, all the little detail about the Dean/Cas bond like the smile and stuff - my heart just breaks for Dean because even though he has 'someone' eg Cas, it's soo not the same and the contrast makes it even more poignant, I think.
I love how they resort to texting for the REALLY BIG things, when they know they WON'T be able to cover up with their voices. With these two, it's the things they DON'T say to each other - and god, your fic is filled to the brim with all these little thoughts and detail THAT JUST TWIST THE KNIFE OH SO GOOD!!
I really love your supporting characters too!! Angela and Kim and Garth and Jennifer and god knows who else - like I said, a lot of Sam/Dean dynamics come from things they refuse to say to each other so I thought it was a really nice thing to see what other people perceive, you know?
And Jess, she was also really well done. It's the fact that she knows Sam but hardly Dean at all, I think that makes her perspective interesting.

This is DEFINITELY going to be one of those fics that I read and re-read again obsessively, I can tell. There are sooo many details in there that I failed to mention here but the cumulative effect of it all?

Date: 2012-07-23 10:47 pm (UTC)Umm, yeah, I'm rambling, it's nearly two in the morning where I live but I could not go to bed before I finished your story. Oh and the Dean/Cas bit didn't freak me out too badly, though I did skip most of it in order to not gross myself out. I kinda wish you'd have gone with the OMC instead of Cas, as I really can't imagine Cas in any kind of physical relationship with anyone, least of all with Dean, but than again writing an OMC would have meant also changing some important parts in the story, like the heartbreaking bit with the amulet, which I really liked, I can imagine Sam's heart breaking when Dean wasn't wearing it.
I absolutely loved Dean doing odd jobs around the house, like mending the porch and hanging the flowers. Love me some domestic Dean. <3 And the ending was ten kinds of beautiful, this is how I'd wish the show to end, the boys all happy and safe together in a house of their own.
So glad I took the chance, it was a lovely story and now I can go to bed happy and dream about happy daddy!boys. Thank you!
